Welcome to My Beliefs

Please note that like most artists (and most people for that matter), my system of morals is convoluted and contradictory, and changes over time.
Beliefs Relating to (most) Technology

I do belive that technology helps the world, that it has a net positive impact. I would consider myslelf to be a transhumanist. However, I believe that all the information surrounding technology should be public. I try my best to use exclusively open source software. I GNU/Linux on my personal machine, and use practially all open source applications or open source clients for close sourced applications. I believe in the FSF's idea of free software being superior to merely open source, but it's just not personally possible for the lifestyle that I live. I know that I am being spyed on, less than the average resident of my country but still. I find it difficult to come to terms with that fact.

Beliefs Relating to "Artificial Intelligence"

I use quotes for the heading above because the current LLMs do not posess any real intelligence of their own. I will refer to it as AI, but please be aware that that is misleading and I have no other way to address it. I think that AI has the capacity to help the world. And I think that AI in its current form, is terrible. AI being developed by Big Tech Corporations has little to no security, is mostly spyware, and is at the least problematic and at the most soul-crushing. I think that if we want AI to help the world, we need to regulate it to 3 main rules.

    1. AI cannot collect any data that is not crucial for its core function
    2. AI's query's must be processed locally
    3. AI cannot take the role of a human.

I refuse to use any AI that does not follow these three regulations.

An example of AI that follows all three of these regulations is Lossless Scaling. An example of AI that follows none is Veo 3.

Beliefs Related to Government

I do believe that the government that I live under presently is one of the worst options. For context, I live in eroded democracy that looks, acts, and smells like oligarchy. I think that in order to improve the government, I think that there is a clear path. We can make the government larger, and put established, knowlegable scientists in positions of power. This is helpful because I believe that scientists can put policies into place that benefit the people. In this scenario, the government should be larger so that it can accommodate for a greater range of ideas. I also think that it is important to tax the rich much more and provide more extensive social services for those who need them. I also believe that there should be an absolute maximum amount of wealth that someone is allowed to gain per year. This study shows that happiness increases with income untill one earns more than $500,000 per year, so I think that it is a reasonable income cap. I can sympathize with anarchists, and I think that humans in a vacumm would thrive without government, but that there is too much civil unrest as is for anarchism to exist effectively today.
